Welcome to Skill Samurai's Junior Coders Web Development Program!
Program Description
1. What is Scratch, and who uses it to learn how to code?
Scratch is a beginner-friendly coding platform created by MIT. It's used by millions of kids around the world to learn how to code by building animations, interactive stories, and games. It’s perfect for young learners because it uses visual blocks instead of typed code.
2. Isn’t my child too young to learn coding?
Not at all! Just like learning a second language, starting early makes it easier. Our program is designed specifically for kids in grades k-10th, with fun, age-appropriate projects that make coding easy to understand and exciting to learn.
3. I’m worried about too much screen time.
That’s a valid concern—and one we share! Instead of passive screen time, our program transforms it into purposeful tech time. We channel kids’ love for games into building their own. They’ll also get a glimpse into how coding can be used in careers like robotics, web design, and animation.
4. What if my child has never coded before?
That’s totally fine! Our program is beginner-friendly and self-paced, so kids can learn at their comfort level while getting support when needed. No experience required.
5. How does this help my child outside of coding?
Coding builds critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and resilience—skills that help kids succeed in any subject, not just technology.
Participants must currently be in grades 3 to 5.
